A Craft & Entrepreneurship Club for Girls
Ages 8-11 | 13-week semester, plus additional get-togethers + bazaar
The Creative Club Co. is a semester-long craft club that pairs handmade creativity with real entrepreneurship, built around a simple idea: girls this age are capable of far more than we usually hand them. Most craft clubs end when the glue dries. Glitter, paint, and beads are all fun, but as parents, we know that our girls can do more than just make things.
In this craft club, girls get to enjoy making crafts with friends but also learn the basics of entrepreneurship: how to design her own product line, branding her own little shop, pricing what she makes, and selling it at a real community fair at the end of the semester. Part of what the club earns is given as sadaqah to a local cause the girls research and vote on themselves.
The whole semester is modeled after Khadijah (RA), one of the great businesswomen of her time, known for her excellence, her honesty in trade, and her generosity. Those are the three legacies the girls practice every week: making with ihsan, because Allah loves excellence; dealing truthfully, as our Prophet ﷺ (known as As-Sadiq, Al-Amin) did in trade; and giving for the sake of Allah, because what is given for His sake is never lost. She built it fourteen hundred years ago. They'll build it in fourteen weeks, with (almost) endless craft supplies, with a shop sign in their own hand-lettering, and with a cash box they count themselves.
Enrollment:
Open to girls ages 8-11
Space is limited so every girl gets individual attention at the craft table
No prior art experience required; this craft club is about finding each girls’ strengths and passions through hands-on experiences
Schedule & Tuition
Dates: September 20 – January (exact end date TBD) + community fair (13 classes)
Sundays 12:30 - 2:30 PM
$50 registration fee (includes personalized welcome bag for each girl)
$35 per class / $455 entire semester
Location: Coppell, TX
Materials: all craft supplies are included in tuition. Note: you will be financially responsible for any extra materials needed for your daughter’s stall at the community fair. All girls keep their profits minus what they jointly agree to donate.
Inside The Club
Connection First
This is a club, not a classroom. From day one, icebreaker games and activities help the girls get to know each other and make new friends, because everything is better with a friend beside you. This is a place where girls explore their passions alongside peers who love the same things they do.
Faith Focused
The club is modeled after the life of Khadijah (RA). Everything the girls do, from creativity to business, is centered around our intention and our obligations toward Allah. Together, the club also learns about local charity initiatives, discovers ways to help, and donates proceeds from the final fair.
Hands-On Creativity
The Creative Club Co. is named for exactly what it's all about - creating! Girls explore an assortment of crafts and art projects to discover their creative side and find what they truly love to make. Once each girl lands on her business idea and product line, it's production time!
Entrepreneurship
Each week, girls learn one real business idea: what makes a good product, what a brand is, what things cost and what they're worth, how to invite customers in, and more. Every lesson is taught through the crafts themselves, never as a lecture (maybe an energetic spiel). Each girl also gets her own notebook to decorate and fill with her plans and ideas all semester.
Community Fair
Everything the girls create and learn comes to life at our community fair. Each girl runs her own storefront (aka a table!) and sells her products with confidence. Unlike other kid fairs, our girls arrive prepared - they know their brand, their mission, and their marketing, because they've spent months building toward this day.

Niyyah: beginning with intention, working with sincerity
Ihsan in work and honesty in trade, on the example of our Prophet ﷺ and Khadijah (RA)
Sadaqah, and learning what real organizations in our own community do
Confidence, friendship, and the courage to stand behind something she made
What Makes This Club Different
There are craft clubs, and there are kids' business classes. This is neither, and both. A girl who has had a chance to explore different crafts and decides to make twenty bracelets to her own quality standard, prices. them honestly, sells them to real customers, and gives part of what she earned to a notable cause - she holds words like ihsan and sadaqah differently than a girl who has only heard them. Every week is designed so that her hands, her mind, and her heart are building the same thing from three directions.
Meet the Instructor
Nabia Khan
My name is Nabia, and I'm the mom behind The Makery. I'm a web designer turned UX designer, and for the last 10 years I've worked with companies and non-profits to build brands, websites, marketing campaigns, and social media that actually connect with people. My real passion is branding: helping businesses discover their voice, tell their story, and grow into something they're proud of.
I'm a mom of five (four girls) and have been homeschooling for the last five years, which has shown me how much kids light up when they're given room to create. I believe children are capable of so much more than academics alone. They deserve space to explore, make things with their hands, follow their curiosity, and discover what they love. I’m also the creator of Spill Magazine, a magazine curated of content made by preteen & teen Muslim girls.
The Makery is where those two parts of me meet: my love for design and branding, and my belief in raising creative, capable kids.
